
UCLA Earns 1-0 Shutout at Oregon State

Eleventh-ranked UCLA and freshman goalkeeper Teagan Micah earned shutout number six of the season, defeating Oregon State, 1-0, on Thursday night in Corvallis, Ore.
Senior forward Darian Jenkins provided all the offense UCLA needed, recording her seventh goal of the season in the 27th minute off a set piece. MacKenzie Cerda earned the assist with her free kick that Jenkins headed into the goal at 26:07.
Oregon State (5-4-2, 0-2-0 in the Pac-12) had several chances to score in the second half but could not convert. After UCLA was called for a handball in the box in the 76th minute, Beaver midfielder Emma Bergstrom's penalty kick hit the crossbar. Earlier in the 57th minute, Allison Pantuso hit the post.
The Bruins outshot the Beavers 11-3 in the first half and 16-9 overall in the contest. UCLA had four shots on goal, all in the first half. Jenkins led the team with five shots. Jessie Fleming had four, two of which were saved.
UCLA improves its record to 8-2-0 and 2-0-0 in Pac-12 play. The Bruins will take on Oregon in Eugene, Ore. on Sunday at 1pm.
