MARINA DEL REY, Calif. -  The UCLA women's rowing program won one of three races against crosstown rival USC in the annual dual-meet competition on Sunday afternoon.
 
No. 13-ranked USC won the varsity eight and varsity four races, while the Bruins earned a victory in the second varsity eight race. UCLA also earned points in the third varsity eight race, as USC did not field a boat.
 
USC posted a time of 6:53.10 in the varsity eight race, edging the Bruins by less than two seconds. UCLA cross the finish line in 6:54.50.
 
UCLA's second varsity eight posted a final time of 7:09.50, more than seven seconds ahead of USC. The Women of Troy registered a 2V8+ time of 7:17.10.
 
USC's varsity four registered a time of 7:48.50, while UCLA finished the race in 7:59.20.
 
UCLA opened the afternoon by racing a pair of eights against each other – a third varsity eight (7:55.30) and a fourth varsity eight (8:09.50).
 
The Bruins will return to action at the season-culminating Pac-12 Championships in northern California on Sunday, May 14. The Pac-12 Championships will take place on Lake Natoma in Rancho Cordova, Calif.
