RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – The UCLA women's rowing program finished sixth in the annual Pac-12 Championships on Sunday morning on Lake Natoma.
The Bruins' second varsity eight recorded a fifth-place finish, while UCLA's varsity eight crew came in seventh. UCLA's varsity four posted a fifth-place finish (out of seven crews), while the Bruins' novice eight boat was third (out of four boats).
UCLA compiled a final total of 16 points in the Pac-12's composite team totals, finishing ahead of seventh-place Oregon State (14 points). Washington won the Pac-12 title, accumulating 45.5 points after registering first-place finishes in every race. California finished second, followed by Stanford, Washington State and USC, respectively.
The Bruins' second varsity eight cross the finish line in 6:40.745, less than two full seconds behind fourth-place Washington State (6:39.585). UCLA finished that race ahead of Oregon State (6:44.916) and USC (6:46.676).
UCLA posted a final time of 6:38.804 in the varsity eight race, less than three seconds behind sixth-place participant Oregon State (6:35.130). Washington finished first in the V8+ race, ahead of California, Stanford, Washington State, USC and Oregon State, respectively.
The Bruins' varsity four crew edged Washington State for fifth place, posting a time of 7:23.726 (while Washington State crossed the finish line in 7:23.943). Washington won the V4+ event, ahead of California, USC, Stanford, UCLA, Washington State and Oregon State, respectively.
