ATLANTA, Ga. - Bruin alums Patrick Cantlay and Kevin Chappell each completed outstanding 2017 PGA TOUR seasons which saw the duo both reach the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club.

Chappell finished 27th in the season's FedExCup standings, earning just over $3.1 million in 27 events. He posted five Top 10s and eight Top 25s, making 21 cuts. Chappell earned his first PGA TOUR victory in April at the Valero Texas Open, winning with a birdie on the 72nd hole. His four other Top 10s came at the FedEx St. Jude Classic (T-4) in June, THE NORTHERN TRUST (T-6) in August, The Masters (T-7) in April and the RBC Canadian Open (T-8) in July. Chappell has finished in the Top 30 for each of the last two seasons after placing eighth in the FedExCup in 2016. 

Chappell, who has earned over $14 million in 194 events on the PGA TOUR since 2008, is gearing up for his first Presidents Cup, which will take place this weekend in Jersey City, N.J.

Cantlay, who rejoined the TOUR in February after missing 26 months due to injuries, got off to a quick start thanks to a runner-up finish at the Valspar Championship in March and a T-3 showing at the RBC Heritage in April. He was 77th entering the start of the FedExCup playoffs, but thanks to a T-10 at THE NORTHERN TRUST, a T-13 at the Dell Technologies Championship and a T-9 at the BMW Championship, Cantlay made it inside the Top 30 to qualify for the TOUR Championship, where he tied for 20th. He made every cut in his 13 events, earning just over $2 million with four Top 10s and eight Top 25s.

Both Cantlay and Chappell have earned exemptions into each of the first three majors of the 2018 season (Masters, U.S. Open, Open Championship).
