PASADENA, Calif. – Josh Rosen threw for 329 yards and set a career-high with five touchdowns as the UCLA football team defeated Hawai'i, 56-23, in a non-conference game at the Rose Bowl on Saturday afternoon.
The Bruins (2-0) had three touchdown receptions from Darren Andrews and a pick-six by Darnay Holmes for a 28-point advantage at halftime.
Rosen completed 22 of 25 passes and his five TD passes are the most by a Bruin quarterback since Drew Olson threw for six in 2005. Andrews is the first Bruin player with three touchdown receptions since 2004.
Demetric Felton ran for 37 yards and a score while Bolu Olorunfunmi ran for 32 yards and a score. Nate Starks led the UCLA rushing attack with 42 yards on seven carries. Theo Howard had a game-high 110 yards receiving on seven catches with a score and Andrews added 92 yards on four receptions.
Hawai'i (2-1) had 190 yards on the ground led by Diocemy Saint Juste with 154 yards on 27 carries including a 66-yard run. Dru Brown threw for 227 yards on 23 of 38 passes for two touchdowns and an interception.
UCLA led by as many as 42 points in the fourth quarter when Rosen found Caleb Wilson for a two-yard touchdown with 11:40 to go in the quarter for his fifth of the game to make the score 56-14.

After a Rainbow Warriors touchdown pass, Olorunfunmi punched in a one-yard touchdown run for his first of the season to put UCLA back up by 35 points with 4:49 to go in the third quarter.
