
Tennis Teams Kick Off 2017

LOS ANGELES - Members of the UCLA tennis teams will kick off the 2017 season this week, as players head to several individual tournaments throughout the Southwest beginning on Friday.
On the men's side, UCLA will be sending eight players to the Sherwood Collegiate Cup in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Contested at the beautiful Sherwood Country Club, the Sherwood Collegiate Cup is annually one of the strongest tournaments to start the new year, with traditional powers Baylor, USC and Stanford all sending players to the event. Representing UCLA will be Gage Brymer, Martin Redlicki, Joseph Di Giulio, Maxime Cressy, Austin Rapp, Logan Staggs, Evan Zhu and Ben Goldberg.
Play begins at Sherwood on Friday, Jan. 13 and concludes on Monday, Jan. 16. A complete draw from Sherwood can be accessed HERE.
UCLA will also be sending two players to the National Collegiate Tennis Classic in Palm Springs, Calif., as Daniel Gealer and Michael Guzman head to the Desert from Friday-Sunday. A draw for the NCTC is not yet available.
The UCLA women are also split between a pair of tournaments this week, with four players headed to Las Vegas for the Freeman Memorial Championships at UNLV, and two players joining the men in Palm Springs at the NCTC. Headed to Vegas are Ena Shibahara, Terri Fleming, Alaina Miller and Jada Hart. UNLV will be posting updates throughout the week. They can be accessed by clicking HERE.
