Ross Named Pac-12 Freshman, Specialist of Week

Freshman Kyla Ross has been named both the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week and the Pac-12 Specialist of the Week after recording the first perfect 10 on uneven bars by any gymnast this season.
Ross's perfect 10 was the 105th in UCLA history and the 21st on the uneven bars. Her score helped UCLA achieve a season-high on bars with a 49.550, the Bruins' highest bars score since 2010. Ross nearly recorded a second perfect score on vault, earning 9.925 out of 9.95 on her Yurchenko layout full to record her second event victory of the day. She earned yet another season-high on balance beam with a 9.850.
Ross now ranks No. 2 in the nation on uneven bars with an average of 9.933, and she has three event titles on bars in as many meets. She also ranks 16th in the nation on vault with an average of 9.883.
Utah's MyKayla Skinner was named the Gymnast of the Week for the fourth-straight week.
