BRUINS TRAVEL TO PLAY AT NO. 12 WASHINGTON
UCLA (4-3, 2-2) hits the road for a trip to Seattle to take on No. 12-ranked Washington (6-1, 3-1) on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 12:30 p.m. The game will be televised by ABC. The Bruin IMG Radio Network will radio broadcast the contest, which will also be aired over Sirius/XM, uclabruins.com and tunein.com and the TuneIn App.

The Bruins have captured wins in five of the last six overall meetings in the series, including in the most recent game, which was played in 2014 in Seattle. UCLA is 15-20-1 in games played in Seattle but has won four of the last six battles in the Northwest. The only Husky wins in the series since 1996 have come in Seattle (1996, 2000, 2006, 2010).

Brett Hundley piloted UCLA to victory in that most recent contest in 2014, throwing for 302 yards and two touchdowns to become the school's all-time leader in TD passes. He also ran for two more scores. Myles Jack added a 28-yard touchdown run in then-No. 18 UCLA's 44-30 win.

In 2013, UCLA posted a 41-31 win on a Friday-night battle in the Rose Bowl. Jack scored four rushing touchdowns on the night. UCLA moved out to a 27-7 lead early in the second quarter only to see the Huskies close to 27-24 in the third quarter. Jack's final scoring romp lifted the Bruins into a 34-24 advantage before each team traded scores to end the game.

This will be the first time Washington has been ranked for the match-up since the 2003 season, when an unranked Bruin team bested the Huskies, 46-16, in the Rose Bowl. UCLA spotted the Washington Huskies a 13-0 lead, but went on to out score Washington 39-0 in the final 30 minutes. Washington tallied just one field goal on its final 12 possessions. The game turned around early in the third quarter when Dave Ball sacked Cody Pickett in the end zone, forcing a fumble that Rodney Leisle recovered for a Bruin touchdown. With 4:19 remaining in the quarter, UCLA took the lead for good when Manuel White forced himself into the end zone from the one, capping a 91-yard, 5:30 drive. Quarterback Drew Olson (3:30) and running back Maurice Jones-Drew (2:05) added late touchdowns for the final margin.

The 1990 Upset
Seattle's Husky Stadium is the site of one of the greatest upset wins in UCLA history. The 1990 Bruin team, which came into the game as 21-point underdogs with a 4-5 record, defeated No. 2-ranked Washington 25-22 on a rainy, windy November day. The Huskies had beaten their previous six Pac-10 opponents by an average of 33 points heading into the battle.

Brian Brown scored on an 88-yard touchdown run, slipping past a blitzing Husky defense, to lift the Bruins into an early 7-0 lead, but it was a 43-yard field goal by Brad Daluiso with just 0:10 to play that took down the Huskies, likely costing UW a national championship shot as top-ranked Notre Dame had lost earlier in the day.

The Bruins grabbed a 13-7 halftime lead with 2 seconds left in the half when QB Tommy Maddox found Corwin Anthony for a 1-yard touchdown pass, but a bad snap resulted in a failed conversion. Late in the 3rd quarter, Washington moved into the lead, at 14-13, on a short scoring run. Early in the 4th quarter, UCLA put together their second 80-yard scoring drive of the day, with Maddox connecting with WR Scott Miller on a 30-yard scoring strike for a 19-14 Bruin lead after the extra point attempt sailed wide.

Washington fumbled on its next possession, and Daluiso booted a 22-yard field goal to extend the lead to 22-14 with 9:39 left. UW got a break when Miller mishandled a punt return and the Huskies recovered at the UCLA 37-yard line with 3:30 to go. Four plays later, QB Mark Brunell found Mario Bailey for a 32-yard TD pass. The 2-point conversion tied the game at the 2:36 mark.

The Bruins punted on their next possession, and UW had a chance to claim the win, but UCLA's All-Pac-10 safety Eric Turner came away with an interception, giving the Bruins the ball at midfield with 1:37 left. Four plays later, with the ball at the Washington 26-yard line, Daluiso hit the winning kick.
