
UCLA Rowing Prepared for San Diego Crew Classic

The UCLA women's rowing team will compete at the two-day San Diego Crew Classic on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2.
UCLA will race two varsity eight crews, one varsity four and one novice eight this weekend. An annual two-day competition on Mission Bay, the San Diego Crew Classic was formed in 1973 and has evolved into one of the sport's most nationally-acclaimed regattas.
The Bruins' Saturday schedule will begin with the women's varsity eight in the Jessop Whittier Heat A at 8:40 a.m. UCLA will compete against Texas, Wisconsin, the University of Victoria and UC Santa Barbara.
UCLA's varsity four will take the water at 9:04 a.m. The Bruins' V4+ heat includes competitors USC, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara and Sacramento State.
The Bruins' second varsity four will race at approximately 9:52 a.m., squaring off against USC, Loyola Marymount, Sacramento State and UC Santa Barbara.
UCLA's final race of Saturday morning will be the novice eight in a preliminary heat scheduled for 11:08 a.m. The Bruins will face Texas, San Diego State, Sacramento State, the University of British Columbia, Loyola Marymount and UC Santa Barbara.
The weekend will continue with a slate of morning races on Sunday, all of which will be determined on Saturday (based on the results from Saturday morning's races).
