Ohashi Earns Pac-12 Specialist of Week Honors

UCLA sophomore Katelyn Ohashi earned her second Pac-12 Specialist of the Week award this season after scoring a perfect 10 on balance beam during UCLA's 197.525-196.800 victory over Cal.
Ohashi won both events that she competed, nabbing her first career perfect 10 on beam and recording a career-high 9.925 on floor. She becomes the fourth Bruin to record a perfect 10 this season and is just the seventh Bruin ever to score a 10 on balance beam. Ohashi, who now ranks fifth in the nation on beam, has scored 9.9 or higher on her last five beam routines, averaging 9.955 over those five routines. She is also averaging 9.855 on floor in her last five meets.
This is Ohashi's second Pac-12 Specialist of the Week award this season, and her sixth Pac-12 weekly award of her career. She earned Freshman of the Week honors four times in 2016. UCLA has dominated the Specialist of the Week category in the Pac-12 this year, winning six times in nine weeks, including four in a row.
UCLA returns to Pauley Pavilion for the last time this season on Sunday, Mar. 12. The Bruins will host North Carolina at 12pm. Tickets are available at uclabruins.com/tickets.
