She becomes the third consecutive NCAA beam champion for UCLA, joining Danusia Francis (2016) and Samantha Peszek (2015). UCLA has won nine beam titles all-time. On bars, she is UCLA's seventh NCAA champion and first since Tasha Schwikert in 2008. UCLA has now won 36 NCAA individual titles, ranking second only to Georgia's 42.
Also earning podium finishes were Madison Kocian, who was seventh on floor and in the all-around, and Katelyn Ohashi, who placed eighth on beam. Ross also earned a sixth-place all-around finish.
UCLA will compete for the NCAA team title on Saturday, Apr. 15 at 8pm CT/6pm PT in the Super Six Team Finals (TV: ESPNU). Also competing in the Team Finals are Oklahoma, Utah, LSU, Florida and Alabama. The Bruins have the Olympic order and will begin on vault and end on floor.
