Freshman Kyla Ross of the UCLA gymnastics team has been voted the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Apr. 10-16.

Ross won two NCAA individual titles last weekend, capturing the balance beam title with a 9.9625 and sharing the uneven bars title with a 9.9500. With her two titles, she made history by becoming the first female gymnast ever to become an Olympic, World and NCAA champion. Ross is just the second Bruin gymnast to win the NCAA bars and beam titles in the same season, joining Kate Richardson, who also accomplished this feat in 2003. Additionally, Ross placed sixth in the all-around with a career-best 39.575 and earned first-team All-America honors in the all-around, bars and beam. Ross also competed in the all-around at the Super Six team finals and scored 39.425 to help lead the Bruins to a fourth-place finish.

This is Ross' second UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.

The UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week is chosen by fans on Twitter via @UCLAAthletics. This week, Ross beat out baseball's Griffin Canning, who had a career-high 12 strikeouts in a complete game shutout victory over No. 18 Stanford; women's water polo's Kodi Hill, who had three goals and three assists in the Bruins' 10-9 win over No. 1 Stanford; and men's golf's Hidetoshi Yoshihara, who took his first collegiate tournament victory, winning the Maxwell and being the lone player under par.
