Jelenicki Named Student-Athlete of the Week

Junior Madeline Jelenicki of the UCLA softball team has been voted the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for May 15-21.
Jelenicki hit a home run in all three Bruin victories at last week's Los Angeles Regional, going 5-for-10 (.500) with six runs batted in and three runs scored. In game one versus Lehigh on May 19, she went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a single. Jelenicki added another two-run homer and single in a game two win against San Jose State on May 20, while adding a third, two-run bomb and a walk on May 21 in the Regional title game versus Cal State Fullerton.
On the season, Jelenicki leads the team with 66 runs batted in and five sacrifice flies and is third with a .337 batting average, 15 home runs and 12 doubles.
The UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week is chosen by fans on Twitter via @UCLAAthletics. This week, Jelenicki beat out baseball's Daniel Amaral, who hit .636 in a weekend sweep of Utah.
