Five Bruins to Compete at USATF Junior Outdoors

Five Bruins will compete at the USA Track and Field Junior Outdoor Championships June 22-25 in Sacramento, Calif. Competing for national titles are rising sophomores Logen Casavant, Nate Esparza, Isaiah Holmes and Chris Morzenti and incoming freshman Alyssa Wilson.
Wilson began competition on Thursday morning, placing fifth in the discus. She will also compete in the shot put and hammer throw on Friday, June 23. Wilson placed fourth in the hammer throw last year and was a bronze medalist in the shot put at the 2016 World Junior Championships.
Beginning competition on Friday are Holmes in the high jump and long jump, Esparza in the shot put, and Casavant in the 400m. Morzenti will race in the 1500m finals on Saturday.
