
UCLA Defeats Santa Ana FC in Final Exhibition

LOS ANGELES – Robert Knights and Milan Iloski each scored a goal as the UCLA men's soccer team defeated Santa Ana Winds FC, 2-1, in its final exhibition match on Sunday from Drake Stadium.
Tied 1-1 in the 89th minute, Knights scored the game-winning goal as he received a pass to the left side of the goal from Blayne Martinez and slotted the shot near post to beat the keeper.
UCLA jumped out in front, 1-0, in the 20th minute as Milan Iloski finished a give-and-go play inside the box from Brian Iloski to the left-near post. Santa Ana Winds FC tied the match at 1-1 in the 76th minute when Edwin Borboa lifted a long shot over the head of Cole Martinez.
The Bruins will officially open the 2017 season on Saturday, Aug. 26 against San Francisco on the road with kick off scheduled for 7 p.m. from Negoesco Stadium.
