The Bruins issued a balanced attack offensively, getting four points apiece from Dean, Burke, Miller and freshman Ahlana Smith. The Warriors closed in on the Bruins to cap the stanza, putting together a 10-3 run to climb within two (19-17) before Corsaro scored on a drive to the bucket to make it 21-17 UCLA after one.
ย
The Bruins continued to share the wealth on the offensive end in the second quarter, erupting for 12 of the first 17 points to go up 33-22 after Dean found Miller on the break for an easy two. UCLA held Westmont to just 3-for-17 shooting in the second quarter while connecting on 53.3 percent (16-for-30) from the field en route to taking a commanding 40-26 lead into the locker room.
ย
In the third, UCLA kept a comfortable distance from Westmont, stretching its lead to 17 (50-33) midway through the quarter. After taking a 14-point (56-42) edge into the final stanza, Westmont clawed its way back in thanks to back-to-back triples to trim the Bruin advantage to eight (56-48).
