Ohashi Named Pac-12 Specialist of the Week

UCLA junior Katelyn Ohashi has been named the Pac-12 Specialist of the Week for the first time this season and third time in her career.
Ohashi scored 9.9 or higher on three events on Sunday against Utah, tying for first place on floor exercise with a 9.975 and on balance beam with a 9.925. She also tied her season-high in placing second on uneven bars with a 9.9. Ohashi's scores moved her up in the national rankings to No. 4 on beam and No. 19 on floor. She has averaged 9.967 on floor in her last three meets.
UCLA has won all seven Pac-12 Specialist of the Week awards this season and the last 12 in a row dating back to last year. Christine Peng-Peng Lee has won the award three times this year, and Ohashi, Napualani Hall, Grace Glenn and Felicia Hano have won once.
Joining Ohashi in winning the weekly awards is Gymnast of the Week MyKayla Skinner of Utah and Freshman of the Week Cairo Leonard-Baker of Arizona State.
No. 3 UCLA will host No. 8 Oregon State on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 3 pm in Pauley Pavilion.
