SAN DIEGO - The third-ranked Bruins scored nine unanswered runs, as redshirt freshman Aaliyah Jordan went 3-for-3 with a two-run double in UCLA's 9-1, five-inning victory over UCF at the USD Softball Complex.

UCLA (16-0) had 10 hits as a team from seven different players, with senior Kylee Perez adding a pair of hits. In the circle, freshman Holly Azevedo moved to 5-0, striking out four in five innings. She gave up an unearned run, three hits and one walk, recording one strikeout in each of her last four frames and a 1-2-3 inning in the second.

UCF (10-8) scored in the top of the first, as Denali Schappacher scored on a UCLA error, but the Bruins rebounded to tie the score in their first at-bat. With two outs, Jordan, junior Brianna Tautalafua and sophomore Bubba Nickles strung singles together to plate the Bruins' first run.

In the second, junior Zoe Shaw singled with one out, freshman Kinsley Washington walked and freshman Briana Perez singled to left to bring in Shaw to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead. Kylee Perez followed with a single to bring in Washington to make it 3-1, while a double to left from Jordan scored both Perez sisters to increase the margin to 5-1.

UCLA added three more in the third. Junior Taylor Pack singled up the middle to open the inning, and one out later, walks to Shaw and Washington loaded the bases. Briana Perez made it 6-1 on a sacrifice fly to center to bring in Pack, while a passed ball brought home Shaw to up the lead to 7-1. Kylee Perez followed with a single up the middle to bring in Washington to make it 8-1.

In the fifth, the Bruins posted their seventh mercy-rule win of the season. Briana Perez was hit to open the frame and Kylee Perez reached on a fielder's choice grounder. Sophomore Jacqui Prober then laid down a sacrifice bunt, but an error by the Knights allowed Briana Perez to score from second to finish off a 9-1 win.

The Bruins play twice in two different locations on Saturday, facing #20 Minnesota at 2 p.m. at SDSU Softball Stadium and San Diego at 7 p.m. at the USD Softball Complex. Live stats will be available for both games at UCLABruins.com.
