ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. - The Bruins shot the best round of the day on Wednesday at the Rolling Hills Country Club to conclude the Pac-12 Conference Championships, posting a 10-under 345 to finish in sixth place (-10, 1,410). UCLA tied for the fourth-lowest round of the entire tournament.
Junior Cole Madey maintained his position as low Bruin, finishing in a tie for 10th at 8-under 276. He made three birdies in his final round on #12, #14 and #2 to go with two bogeys for a 1-under 70.
Sophomore Hidetoshi Yoshihara recorded the low round of the day for UCLA with a 4-under 67, as he tied for 16th (-3, 281). He made five birdies on #10, #12, #16, #1 and #6 and only one bogey.
Freshman Devon Bling tallied a bogey-free, 3-under 68, making birdies on #10, #12 and #15. Overall, he tied for 19th at 2-under 282. Junior Patrick Murphy tied for 41st (+3, 287), recording an even-par 71 on Wednesday. He made six birdies (#10, #16, #18, #1, #2 and #4), four bogeys and a double. Freshman Eddy Lai tied for 45th (+4, 288), shooting a 1-under 70 in his final round. He notched four birdies on #10, #11, #16 and #2, one bogey and one double. Senior Tyler Collier posted a 1-under 70 and tied for 55th (+7, 291). He eagled the par-5 15th, adding birdies on #2 and #5, one bogey and one double.
The Bruins will learn where their Regional journey begins when Golf Channel airs the NCAA Selection Show next Wednesday, May 2 at 3 p.m.
