UCLA picked up another run in the fifth inning after Mitchell hit a single to left field to bring home Pries, who got on base after being hit by a pitch.
The Cardinal got on the board first with a two-run home run by Andrew Daschbach in the top of the first inning. UCLA answered back in the bottom half of the inning with Chase Strumpf hitting a solo home run to left field.
