
No. 11 UCLA Falls in Extras at Washington, 6-4

SEATTLE โ Jack Stronach drove in two runs on two base hits and Jeremy Ydens hit a home run as the No. 11 UCLA baseball team fell at Washington, 6-4, in 11 innings on Sunday in the series finale at Husky Ballpark.
After both teamsย went scoreless in the 10th inning, Joe Wainhouse came up with a runner on first base and hit a walk-off home run to center field to win the game for Washington in the 11th inning.
Washington scored in the first inning for the second-straight game as Nick Kahle hit a two-run home run just over the left-field wall.
UCLA tied the game in the top of the third inning when Ydens led off with a solo home run to left field followed later in the inning by Stronach bringing home Kevin Kendall with a two-out base hit through the right side.
The Bruins grabbed their first lead of the game in the fifth inning as Stronach recorded his second RBI-single through the right side and Jake Pries lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to plate Daniel Amaral for a 4-2 lead.
The Huskies got one run back in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jonathan Schiffer to right field to make it a one-run game. They would send the game to extra innings in the bottom of the ninth inning on a Willie MacIver sacrifice fly to make the score 4-4.
Stevie Emanuels (6-2) earned the winning tossing a scoreless top of the 11th inning, as UW's starter Jordan Jones threw 8.0 innings allowing four runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts.
Holden Powell (2-1) suffered the loss throwing the final 1.2 inning allowing three runs on four hits with one strikeout. Ryan Garcia tossed 5.2 innings in the start allowing three runs on four hits with one strikeout.
UCLA (31-16, 15-9) scored four runs on eight hits with no errors, while Washington (25-21, 15-9) finished the game with six runs on eight hits with two errors.
UCLA will prepare for its final four regular-season home games next week when it hosts CSUN for the last midweek game of 2018 on Tuesday at 6 p.m. PT before welcoming Oregon for a three-game Pac-12 series beginning on Friday at 4 p.m. PT. All three games against the Ducks will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
