NARITA, Japan - Bruin alum Scott McCarron recorded his third PGA TOUR Champions victory of the 2019 season on Sunday, winning the Mastercard Japan Championship. McCarron shot a 5-under 67 to finish at 13-under 203 and win by three strokes.
McCarron held the outright lead heading into Sunday's final round following a 5-under 67 on Saturday. He made six birdies on Sunday and maintained his top position in the season-long Charles Schwab Cup standings.
McCarron has also won this season at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic in April and the Insperity Invitational in May. It is his 11th career PGA TOUR Champions victory.
