
Eddy Lai Records First Career Victory in Georgia

ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Junior Eddy Lai won for the first time in his collegiate career on Sunday, sharing medalist honors at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational.
For the second day in a row, Lai tied for the lowest score on the Lakeside Course, posting a 4-under 68. For 54 holes, he was a 7-under 209 to tie Texas A&M's William Paysse for medalist honors. Lai made five birdies on Sunday on No. 2, 4, 7, 10 and 14, making just one bogey.
As a team, the Bruins placed fifth (+8, 872), shooting a 4-over 292 in the final round.
Sophomore Bryan Wiyang Teoh tied for 19th (+2, 218), shooting a 4-over 76 on three birdies (No. 4, 5 and 8), three bogeys and a quad. Junior Devon Bling tied for 35th (+5, 221), making three bogeys in a 3-over 75. Senior Hidetoshi Yoshihara tied for 52nd (+9, 225), recording two birdies on No. 1 and 10 and four bogeys in a 2-over 74. Freshman Mason Greene, playing as an individual, tied for 62nd (+12, 228), making one birdie on No. 8, eight bogeys and a double in a 9-over 81. Sophomore Sean Maruyama tied for 71st (+16, 232), posting three birdies on No. 1, 9 and 12, three bogeys and a triple in a 3-over 75.
The Bruins are back in action Monday, Oct. 28 and Tuesday, Oct. 29 at the Cypress Point Classic at the Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach.
