Junior forward Milan Iloski of the UCLA men's soccer team has been named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 30-Oct. 6. In addition, Iloski has been named both the TopDrawer Soccer National Player of the Week and Pac-12 Player of the Week.
Iloski posted six goals in a 2-0-0 week for UCLA, including a school-record five-goal performance against San Diego State on Sunday night. The Escondido, Calif. native put the Bruins up for good against the Aztecs with two goals in the first half, then added three more goals in the second half in a span of just 12 minutes.
Following his standout performance last week, Iloski took over the national lead in goals (14), points (30), and points per game (3.0). Besides setting the UCLA single-game goalscoring record, he also equaled the program mark for single-game points (10) and single-season hat tricks (two).
This is Iloski's second UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week award of the season and third of his career.
Also nominated: Tommy Gruwell, M. Water Polo; Mac May, W. Volleyball; Karina Rodriguez, W. Soccer.
