
Bruins Maintain Third, Two Back at Royal Ka'anapali

KA'ANAPALI, Hawaii - With 18 holes remaining at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic Invitational, the Bruins are in third place, just two strokes back of first-place Washington (-27, 541) and one behind second-place Oklahoma (-26, 542). UCLA shot a 10-under 274 as a team on Saturday at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course and sits at 25-under 543 through 36 holes.
The low round of the day for the Bruins came from junior Devon Bling, who shot a 4-under 67. He made an eagle-3 on the par-5 6th, adding four birdies on No. 1, 7, 9 and 11 and one double bogey. After two rounds, he is tied for fifth at 8-under 134.
Sophomore Bryan Wiyang Teoh is also tied for fifth (-8, 134), posting a 3-under 68 on Saturday. He produced five birdies on No. 2, 6, 9, 10 and 11 and two bogeys.
Junior Eddy Lai registered a 3-under 68 on five birdies (No. 3, 6, 8, 9 and 13) and two bogeys, and is tied for 20th at 5-under 137.
Freshman Chaz Aurilia, playing as an individual, is tied for 27th (-4, 138). He tallied an eagle-2 on the par-4 12th, adding birdies on No. 1, 6, 9 and 16 and three bogeys in a 3-under 68. Sophomore Sean Maruyama is tied for 33rd (-3, 139), shooting a 1-over 72 on three birdies (No. 6, 8 and 11), two bogeys and a double. Senior Hidetoshi Yoshihara is tied for 40th (-2, 140), recording an even-par 71 on six birdies, including four in a row on holes No. 7-10. He also made birdie on No. 4 and 13, four bogeys and a double.
The final round will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. HT/10:30 a.m. PT.
