ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – On day two of the Don Kirby Elite Invitational, senior Dotun Ogundeji won the shot put, and the UCLA Bruins notched three top-three finishes on Saturday afternoon at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Ogundeji came out of the gates strong, posting a throw of 19.18m (62-11.25) on his first attempt to seal first place in the event. He was followed by Nate Esparza, who finished second with a mark of 18.52m (60-9.25). Freshman Otito Ogbonnia, who is also member of the Bruin football team, competed in his first collegiate meet, finishing sixth in the shot put with a heave of 17.81m (58-5.25).

It was a successful weekend for the Bruins, who saw Robert Brandt demolish the school record in the 5000m at the Husky Classic with a time of 13:40.82 and Sondre Guttormsen break his own indoor record in the pole vault, clearing 5.73m (18-09.50).

In the 400m dash on Saturday, Cameron Stone took fourth with a season-best time of 47.77, while Schuyler Moore used a season-best time to take second in the qualifying round of the 60m dash (7.62) and first among runners attached.

Senior Suzie Acolatse made the finals of the 60m dash, where she finished fifth with a season-best time of 7.49, and Elleyse Garrett earned sixth place in the pole vault, clearing 4.23m (13-10.5) on her first attempt.
