MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif.ย -- No. 1 UCLA improved to 14-0 on the year, postingย a 4-1 win over No. 4 Florida State (11-4) in a rematch of last year's NCAA Championship game, and a 5-0 sweep of No. 19 TCU (5-7) on Sunday in the East Meets West Challenge at Manhattan Beach Pier.
Seniors Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara put the Bruins up 1-0 over FSU on court one with a straight-set win over Brooke Kuhlman and Payton Rund, 21-12, 21-16.
Freshman Abby Van Winkle and senior Zana Munoย made it 2-0 UCLA with a straight-set win on court three over FSU's Molly McBainย and Kate Privett, 21-18, 21-12.
The reigning AVCA/CollegeBeachVB.com National Pair of the Week, junior Lily Justine and senior Sarah Sponcil, clinched the dual on court two with a straight-set win over the Seminoles' Alainaย Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick, 21-16, 21-15.
Freshman Lindsey Sparks and seniorย Izzy Carey put UCLA up 4-0 with a tightly-contested straight-set win on court five over FSU's Macy Jerger and Jenna Johnson, 21-18, 21-18.
Sophomore Lea Monkhouseย and junior Savvy Simoย were the only casualty of the day, dropping a three-set heartbreaker to Sara Putt and Payton Caffrey, 4-21, 21-17, 15-11.

In the win over TCU, the McNamarasย got the Bruins on the board first again, like they did in all four duals on the weekend with a straight-set win over Jaelynย Greeneย and Victoria McDonald, 21-10, 21-13.
Then freshman Lindsey Sparks and seniorย Izzy Carey put UCLA up 2-0 with an identical win over TCU's Avery Arellano and Hailey Brockettย on court five, 21-10, 21-13.
Monkhouseย andย Simoย clinched the dual for the Bruins onย court four with a two-set win over the Horned Frogs' Claire Doyle and Jordan Westendorff, 21-14, 21-14.
Justine andย Sponcilย made it 4-0 UCLA on court two with a straight-set win over Mandi Orellana and Haven Hill, 21-15, 22-20.
UCLA freshman Abby Van Winkle and senior Zana Munoย remained undefeated at 12-0, rallying for a three-set win on court three over TCU's Taylor Bradley and Molly Scheel, 17-21, 21-17, 15-8.
The Bruins return to action on Saturday, March 16 against No. 3 Pepperdine at 10:00 a.m. PT at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center.
