HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Bruins finished in a tie for eighth at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. UCLA shot a 19-over 303 on Sunday to finish at +35 (887).
Junior Mariel Galdiano tied for 22nd (+6, 219), posting a 4-over 75 in her final round on a birdie on the 12th and five bogeys. Senior Beth Wu tied for 27th (+7, 220), shooting a 4-over 75 on a birdie on the 16th and five bogeys. Sophomore Patty Tavatanakit tied for 41st (+11, 224), recording a 7-over 78 on a birdie on the 15th, four bogeys and two doubles. Junior Clare Legaspi tied for 69th (+18, 231), notching a 4-over 75 on two birdies (No. 10 and 13), four bogeys and a double. Freshman Phoebe Yue finished 82nd (+24, 237), scoring a 9-over 80 on one birdie on the seventh, five bogeys, a double and a triple.
Next up for the Bruins is a three-way match with Oregon and Denver on Tuesday, March 26 at 1 p.m. at the Superstition Mountain Golf Club in Gold Canyon, Ariz.
