LOS ANGELES -- No. 1 UCLA (30-1) advanced in the winner's bracket final of the Pac-12 Championship with a 3-0 sweep of fourth-seeded Arizona (25-5) on Friday afternoon at USC's Merle Norman Stadium.
The first wave featured flights four and five from both teams. The Bruins scored the first point of the dual on court four as junior Savvy Simo and sophomore Lea Monkhouse won in straight sets over Arizona's Sarah Blacker and Jasmine Safar, 21-19, 21-11.
Then senior Izzy Carey and freshman Lindsey Sparks put the Bruins up 2-0 on court five with a straight-set win over the Wildcats' Ainise Havili and Dana Parker, 28-26, 21-18.
The second wave featured flights one, two, and three from both squads. UCLA's court one duo of seniors Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara sealed the sweep with a straight-set win over the Wildcats' Olivia Hallaran and Mia Mason, 21-13, 21-14.
The match on court two was suspended with senior Sarah Sponcil and junior Lily Justine leading Arizona's Jonny Baham and Brooke Burling, 21-12, 16-17.
The match on court three was also truncated with senior Zana Muno and freshman Abby Van Winkle leading Arizona's Natalie Anselmo and Madison Rigdon, 21-18, 18-12.
The Bruins will face second-seeded USC (26-4) on Friday, April 26 at 5:45 p.m. PT.
