LOS ANGELES โ Christina Chenault and Isa Videler of the UCLA track & field team will travel to Tucson, Ariz., to compete in the Combined Events portion of the 2019 Pac-12 Track & Field Championships, hosted this season by the University of Arizona.

Chenault, a redshirt junior out of Walnut Creek, Calif., will be making her third appearance at the Pac-12 Multis. Meanwhile, Videler, a transfer from Missouri State, will be competing in her first career heptathlon and is making her Pac-12 postseason debut. ย

Saturday's Multi-Events will begin for the Bruins at 5 p.m. (MST) with the 100m hurdles. This event will be followed by the high jump (6 p.m.), shot put (8:30 p.m.) and 200m dash (9:45 p.m.).

On Sunday, the heptathlon will finish up with the long jump (5:30 p.m.), javelin (7 p.m.) and 800m run (8:30 p.m.).

At last season's heptathlon, Kendall Gustafson, now a volunteer assistant for the Bruins, finished second with 5,886 points, which ranks second all-time in program history โ only behind legend Jackie Joyner (now Jackie Joyner-Kersee). She set three collegiate bests at the 2018 Multis, including a mark of 46.71m (153-3) in the javelin โ the fifth-best throw in UCLA history.

Chenault will be looking to improve from last year's eighth-place finish in which she dialed in 5,072 points. However, earlier this season at the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 17-18), Chenault won her group's heptathlon with 5,585 points, which ranks 10th in program history. At that meet, she set collegiate bests for the 100m hurdles (14.96), 800m (2:11.40), long jump (5.88m; 19-3.5) and javelin (38.78m; 127-2).

Last Meet
UCLA competed against crosstown rival USC in its annual dual meet, getting a 102-60 win on the men's side and a 90-69 setback for the women.

Both Dotun Ogundeji and Harrison Schrage reeled in 10 points for the Bruin men, as Ogundeji won the shot put (20.09m; 65-11) and discus (56.93m; 186-9), while Schrage took home event wins in the triple jump (14.51m; 47-7.25) and long jump (7.73m; 25-4.5).

While the women came up short, the Bruins did see some career performances that created movement in the top 10 record books. Ilaria Casarotto PR'ed in the javelin, throwing 51.53m (169-1) to move to second all-time, while Alyssa Wilson PR'ed in the discus at 56.97m (186-11) to improve her position at No. 10 all-time. In the 3000m steeple, Claire Markey posted the fourth-fastest time (10:30.41) in program history, and Meleni Rodney won the 400m with a career-best mark of 52.18 โ the eighth fastest-time in the UCLA record books.

The UCLA men moved up one spot in the latest USTFCCCA poll to No. 20 with 105.19 points, and the women jumped three spots to No. 21 with 107.18 points.

Top 25 Marks by the Bruins
UCLA has posted 19 top-25 marks this 2019 outdoor season - three of which have come from standout thrower Alyssa Wilson, who is well on her way to qualifying for three throwing events at the NCAAs (was the lone student-athlete to do so last season). She currently ranks second in the shot put (18.02m; 59-1.5), second in the hammer (70.63m; 231-9) and 12th in the discus (56.97m; 186-11). Christina Chenault is tied for 14th in the nation for the heptathlon (5,585 points) and Ashlie Blake, a senior thrower, ranks 10th in the shot put at 17.12m (56-2). Elleyse Garrett, another senior, is tied for the 15th-best pole vault (4.31m; 14-1.75) in the country. In the javelin, sophomore Ilaria Casarotto mustered the 21st-best throw at 51.53m (169-1), while Meleni Rodney completed the 400m in 52.18 - ranking ninth in the NCAA. On the men's side, Robert Brandt has the ninth-fastest time (13:36.18) in the 5000m and 22nd fastest time in the 10K (28:55.27). In the high jump, Isaiah Holmes cleared 2.20m (7-2.5) to tie for 12th in the NCAA, while freshman Sean Lee has made an immediate impact in the event, clearing 2.17m (7-1.5) to sit tied for 21st in the land. Dotun Ogundeji has the third-best shot put mark (21.05m; 69-0.75) and 10th-best discus throw (60.54m; 198-7), while Nate Esparza (19.50m; 63-11.75) and Otito Ogbonnia (19.43m; 63-9) rank 14th and 16th, respectively, in the shot put. Justin Stafford's effort of 68.57m (225-0) in the hammer ranks 14th in the country, while Simon Litzell's javelin mark of 71.24m (233-9) is good for 17th. With a mark of 7.73m (25-4.5) in the long jump, Harrison Schrage moved to No. 23 in the NCAA.
