LOS ANGELES - Junior Bubba Nickles recorded her second five-RBI game of the Los Angeles Regional in Sunday's nightcap, while redshirt junior Rachel Garcia struck out 12 in 10 2/3 innings of softball, as No. 2 UCLA bounced back from a 5-1 setback to Missouri with a 13-1, five-inning triumph in game two at Easton Stadium.

The Bruins (49-6) advance to next weekend's Super Regional round, where they will await the winner of the Regional Championship between Michigan and James Madison, which will be played on Monday morning. UCLA will host at Easton Stadium, with days, times, and television and ticket information available on Monday.

UCLA had 10 hits in game two from seven different players, as Nickles posted three and sophomore Kinsley Washington added two. Garcia (23-1) struck out four in five innings, allowing a run, two hits and one walk. She had a 1-2-3 inning in the third and two strikeouts in the fourth.

The Bruins scored in all four of their at-bats, starting with three in the first. Nickles led off with a double to center and scored when a sacrifice attempt by sophomore Briana Perez was dropped at first by the Tigers. Redshirt sophomore Aaliyah Jordan followed with a double to left-center to score Perez to make it 2-0, with Jordan advancing to third on the throw home. A Garcia single to right plated Jordan to increase the lead to 3-0.

In the second, UCLA had runners at third and second with Jordan up. She tapped a ball to first, with Missouri coming home to try and get Nickles, but the throw was high, which allowed both Nickles and Perez, from second, to score, to make it 5-0.

UCLA tacked on three more in the third. The Bruins loaded the bases on a single by senior Taylor Pack, a walk to freshman Colleen Sullivan and an infield single by Washington. Nickles then cleared the bases with a two-out double to bring the lead to 8-0.

Missouri (35-25) got a run in the fourth, but UCLA answered with five in the bottom half. Perez led off with a triple to left-center, which was followed by three walks in a row to Jordan, Garcia and Pack to make it 9-1. Two outs later, a two-run single by Washington scored senior Zoe Shaw, who was running for Jordan, and senior Stevie Wisz, who was running for Garcia, to advance the lead to 11-1. One batter later, Nickles singled to left to score Lauren Brzykcy, who was running for Pack, and Washington to make it 13-1.

In game one, the Bruins had just five hits in the 5-1 loss, as Perez notched three of them. All three pitchers saw time in the circle, with Garcia striking out eight in 5 2/3 innings.ย

The lone run for UCLA came in the fifth on an RBI single by Pack to score Perez. Missouri scored twice in the first, once in the fifth and twice in the sixth.
