Four Gymnasts Earn Scholastic All-America Recognition

August 21, 2019 | Gymnastics

Four members of the UCLA Gymnastics team - Madison Kocian, Pauline Tratz, Macy Toronjo and Sara Taubman - have earned Scholastic All-America honors from the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA).

The WCGA Scholastic All-America team acknowledges gymnasts who carry a 3.5 or higher GPA during the school year.

Kocian, a rising senior and psychology major, earns her third Scholastic All-America honor. The Olympic gold and silver medalist from 2016 was a first-team Pac-12 All-Academic honoree last season.

Tratz, a rising junior and communication studies major, receives her second Scholastic All-America award. The Karlsruhe, Germany native was a second-team Pac-12 All-Academic honoree in 2019.

This is the first honor for both Toronjo, a fifth-year senior and history major, and Taubman, a freshman human biology and society major.

All four Bruins were on the Director's Honor Roll all three quarters in 2018-19. Kocian, Tratz and Taubman have been honor roll students every quarter they've been at UCLA, and Toronjo has earned honor roll distinction nine times.
