September 22, 2019 | Men's Soccer
SEATTLE, Wash. – No. 19 UCLA was held without a goal on Sunday afternoon in a 5-0 loss to No. 12 Washington at Husky Soccer Stadium.
The Huskies (7-1-0, 2-0-0) opened the scoring just 49 seconds into the game and never looked back. The Bruins (3-4-0, 0-2-0) dropped consecutive games for the first time this season.
Five different players found the back of the net for UW, starting with Lucas Meek's opener in the first minute. Freddy Kleemann and Imanol Rosales added scores in the opening 45 to make it 3-0 at the halftime break.
Joey Pariah made it 4-0 in the 53rd minute before Ethan Bartlow closed the scoring with a penalty kick conversion in the 60th minute.
The Bruins recorded four shots in the game, all in the second half.
Making his first career start, redshirt sophomore keeper Cameron Douglas made a pair of saves.
After opening Pac-12 play on the road, UCLA returns to Wallis Annenberg Stadium this week for a non-conference tilt against UC Irvine on Thursday, Sept. 26. The Pac-12 Networks will televise that contest.
