Jaquez Jr. Named UCLA Student-Athlete of Week

Sophomore guard/forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. of the UCLA men's basketball team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, earning honors for Dec. 7-13.
Jaquez Jr. averaged 17.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in the Bruins' two victories last week. He shot 61.9 percent from the field and was a perfect 5-for-5 at the free throw stripe. Jaquez Jr. totaled 17 points, shooting 3-for-4 from 3-point distance, in UCLA's 27-point win over San Diego last Wednesday and tied his career high with 18 points in the team's 69-60 victory against Marquette on Friday. Jaquez Jr. has averaged a team-leading 14.8 points per game through UCLA's first six contests.
This is Jaquez Jr.'s first UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and of his career.
