BASEBALL
  • Trevor Bauer, Gerrit Cole โ€“ The former UCLA stars were both named to the 2020 All-MLB Team, the league announced Wednesday. Bauer, the 2020 NL Cy Young Award winner, was selected to the First Team while Cole was tabbed to the Second Team. The All-MLB Team was introduced in 2019 to supplement the league's midseason All-Star selections, akin to postseason honors in the NBA and NFL. ย ย 
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
  • Japreece Dean,ย G, Dynamo Novosibirsk (Russia) โ€“ Japreece Dean ('20) is playing in her first professional season overseas following her senior season with the Bruins.
  • Kennedy Burke, G, Dinamo Sassari (Italy) โ€“ After a strong second-year campaign with the Indiana Fever in the "Wubble", Kennedy Burke ('19) has recently kicked off her second stint overseas. She currently plays for Dinamo Sassari in Italy.ย 
  • Monique Billings, F, Nadezhda Orenburg (Russia) โ€“ Monique Billings ('18) had a breakout season in her third year with the Atlanta Dream this past season in the WNBA and now plays for Nadezhda Orenburg in Russia.ย 
  • Nirra Fields, G (Turkey) โ€“ Nirra Fields ('16) continues her professional career playing overseas in Turkey.ย 
  • Atonya Nyingifa, F, Estudiantes (Madrid) โ€“ Atonye Nyingifa ('14) continues her longstanding professional basketball career with Estudiantes in Spain. Nyingifa wrapped up her UCLA career in 2014 and scored 1,570 points as a Bruin.ย 
  • Rebekah Gardner, G, Sfantu Ghorghe (Romania) โ€“ Rebekah Gardner ('12) continues her prolific professional career overseas with a stint with Sfantu Ghorghe in Romania. Gardner is a member of UCLA's 1,000-point club with 1,101-career points as a Bruin.
FOOTBALL
  • Krys Barnes, ILB, Green Bay Packers โ€“ In his first extended action since returning from the reserve/COVID-19 list, Barnes tallied three total tackles to help Green Bay win its third game in a row. The Packers are tied with New Orleans for the best record in the NFC, at 10-3.
  • Kenny Clark, NT, Green Bay Packers โ€“ Clark continued distancing himself from an early-season injury, notching four tackles and his second sack of the campaign. The second-quarter takedown of Detroit QB Matthew Stafford went for a loss of four yards.
  • Matt Dickerson, DE, Tennessee Titans โ€“ Dickerson collected a season-high three tackles as Tennessee defeated Jacksonville to remain tied for first place in the AFC South.
  • Ka'imi Fairbairn, K, Houston Texans โ€“ Fairbairn converted his lone extra-point try and had one of his two kickoffs go for a touchback.
  • Myles Jack, LB, Jacksonville Jaguars โ€“ Jack turned in his sixth double-digit tackle performance of the season, piling up a team-high 10. One of his stops went for a loss of two yards. Jack, who has 95 tackles on the season, is trying to reach the century mark for the second time in his career (107 in 2018).
  • Marcedes Lewis, TE, Green Bay Packers โ€“ Lewis registered one reception for six yards and has now registered at least one catch in eight games this season.
  • Jacob Tuioti-Mariner, DT, Atlanta Falcons โ€“ Tuioti-Mariner threw Austin Ekeler of the Chargers for a loss of one yard to bring his season mark to 29 tackles. He has more than doubled his 2018 total of 14 stops.
  • Kenny Young, ILB, Los Angeles Rams โ€“ Young had the standout performance for a Rams defense that held New England to just three points Thursday night. Not only did he lead his team with eight tackles, but Young returned a second-quarter interception of quarterback Cam Newton 79 yards for a touchdown and sacked Newton for a loss of three yards in the fourth quarter.
  • TE Devin Asiasi (New England Patriots), OT Andre James (Las Vegas Raiders), OT Conor McDermott (New York Jets), OT Kolton Miller (Las Vegas Raiders), CB Fabian Moreau (Washington Football Team), C Scott Quessenberry (Los Angeles Chargers), OG Alex Redmond (Cincinnati Bengals), WR Matthew Slater (New England Patriots) and OG Xavier Su'a-Filo (Cincinnati Bengals) also played, but did not record any statistics.
MEN'S GOLF
  • PGA Tour Latinoamerica โ€“ Manav Shah is teeing it up at the Puerto Plata Open (Thursday-Sunday) in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. He tied for 46th at last week's Shell Open in Doral, Fla.
WOMEN'S GOLF
  • LPGA Tour โ€“ Bronte Law tied for 30th at the U.S. Women's Open last week in Houston.
  • Women's All Pro Tour โ€“ Mariel Galdiano tied for fifth at the Kingwood Island Championship last week in Kingwood, Texas. Galdiano, Lilia Vu and Beth Wu are in the field at this week's Kingwood Forest Classic (Monday-Wednesday).

  • Reggie Cannon, D, Boavista FC (Portugal) โ€“ย Started and played the full 90 in a 2-1 loss to Estoril Praia as Boavista was eliminated in the fourth round of Portugal's domestic cup. During the contest, Boavistaย snapped a streak of 400 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal, with Cannon on the pitch for thatย entire span. Cannon has started every game for his club since transferring from FC Dallas in September.
  • Jackson Yueillย โ€“ Started in a central midfield role and played the full 90 for the U.S. Men's National Team in its 6-0 win over El Salvador on Wednesday. Yueill chipped in an assist in the international friendly.

  • Sam Mewis, MF, Manchester City (England) โ€“ Mewis scored two goals in two games this week. In her Champions League debut on Dec. 9, she scored the game-winning goal in the 76th minute to lead ManCity to a 2-1 win over Göteborg. Mewis struck again in ManCity's comeback win over Arsenal on Dec. 13, scoring the equalizer in the 30th minute after Arsenal started the game with a third-minute goal. ManCity won the game with a goal in stoppage time.
  • Jessie Fleming, MF, Chelsea FC (England) โ€“ Fleming made her Champions League debut on Dec. 9, playing 29 minutes in Chelsea's 5-0 win over Benfica. The Blues returned to WSL play on Dec. 13, defeating Brighton, 1-0. Fleming did not see action in that contest.
