March 31, 2020 | Gymnastics
Five UCLA gymnasts were named to the Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll for their work in the classroom.
Leading the list of Bruins is 2019 Pac-12 Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete of the Year Madison Kocian, who holds a 3.842 gpa in Psychology. This is the third consecutive year Kocian has received Pac-12 academic honors. The Olympic, World and NCAA champion and seven-time All-American is joined on the Academic Honor Roll by her senior classmate Gracie Kramer, who is set to graduate this year with a degree in Sociology. Kramer is also a three-year Pac-12 academic honoree and finished her career as a two-time first-team All-American on floor.
Joining the senior duo on the honor roll are juniors Kendal Poston (Political Science) and Pauline Tratz (Communication Studies) and sophomore Sara Taubman (Human Biology and Society). Each have earned Scholastic All-America honors during their career โ Poston in 2018, Taubman in 2019 and Tratz in 2018 and 2019. This is Tratz's second Pac-12 academic honor and the first for Poston and Taubman.
The Academic Honor Roll consists of all student-athletes on his or her respective team roster with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above. The student-athletes must have served at least one year in residence at the institution to be eligible to receive honors. A total of 22 Bruins across four sports (men's and women's basketball, gymnastics, women's swimming & diving) earned honor roll distinction.
