UCLA Soccer Teams Earn United Soccer Coaches Academic Awards

September 24, 2020 | Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer

For the third consecutive year, both the UCLA men's and women's soccer teams have qualified for the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award, recognizing exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2019-20 academic year.

UCLA is one of 172 schools NCAA-wide, and one of just two Pac-12 institutions (Washington), to have both its men's and women's teams recognized.

The Bruin women have won the award nine consecutive seasons and in every year of head coach Amanda Cromwell's tenure. At 3.29, the team improved its year-over-year GPA by over a quarter-point (2018-19: 3.03).

The UCLA men had a similar jump in their team GPA, finishing at 3.30 (2018-19: 3.00). It is the third consecutive award for the program and first under head coach Ryan Jorden.

College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.
