MEN'S BASKETBALL
- Kyle Anderson, F, Memphis Grizzlies โ Had a pair of 10-point performances with Memphis last week. Anderson has averaged 13.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 10 games this season.
 - Lonzo Ball, G, New Orleans Pelicans โ Averaged 12.7 points in three games with New Orleans last week. Ball had an 18-point performance with six assists and six rebounds against the Indiana Pacers on Monday, Jan. 4.
 - Aaron Holiday, G, Indiana Pacers โ Averaged 4.3 points in four games with Indiana during the past week. Holiday has registered 5.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game this season.
 - Jrue Holiday, G, Milwaukee Bucks โ Through five games with Milwaukee last week, Holiday averaged 13.6 points per contest. He scored in double figures in all five games, logging 17 points and five assists in a game against the Utah Jazz on Friday, Jan. 8. Holiday has averaged 14.5 points, 5.0 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game this season.
 - Zach LaVine, G, Chicago Bulls โ Scored at least 30 points in each of his last three games. Totaled a season-high 45 points for Chicago on Sunday, connecting on 10 of 16 attempts from 3-point distance. In the 45-point effort, LaVine finished the game having made 15 of 26 shots (57.5 percent). He has averaged 27.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game with the Bulls this season.
 - Kevon Looney, F, Golden State Warriors โ Averaged 5.3 points in four games with Golden State last week. Looney has registered 4.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game this season.
 - Norman Powell, G, Toronto Raptors โ Scored in double figures in three of five games with Toronto last week. Totaled 22 points against Sacramento on Friday, connecting on 4 of 5 attempts from 3-point distance. Midway through his sixth NBA season, Powell has averaged 10.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.
 - Russell Westbrook, G, Washington Wizards โ Averaged 16.0 points and 10.0 assists in his past two games. Scored 20 points and dished 12 assists against Philadelphia on Wednesday, Jan. 6. Currently in his first season with the Washington Wizards, Westbrook has averaged 19.3 points, 11.7 assists and 9.7 rebounds per game.
 
- Matt Dickerson, DE, Tennessee Titans โ Dickerson, who had not recorded a professional start or sack before Sunday, accomplished both in a Wild Card Round loss to Baltimore at home.
 - Cassius Marsh, LB, Pittsburgh Steelers โ In his return from the reserve/COVID-19 list, Marsh posted two total tackles. Pittsburgh fell to Cleveland, however, ending a season that saw him suit up for Jacksonville and Indianapolis before landing with the Steelers.
 - Fabian Moreau, CB, Washington Football Team โ Moreau did not record any statistics in a home loss to Tampa Bay. He logged two interceptions on the season for NFC East champion Washington.
 - Kenny Young, ILB, Los Angeles Rams โ Young contributed one tackle in a starting role for the Rams, who took down NFC West champion Seattle on the road.
 - ILBย Krys Barnes, NT Kenny Clark, TE Marcedes Lewis and the Green Bay Packers will take on Young and the Rams Saturday, Jan. 16 at 1:35 p.m., PT, in an NFL Divisional Round contest at Lambeau Field. Green Bay earned a first-round bye as the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
 
- PGA TOUR โ Patrick Cantlay tied for 13th (-17) at last week's Sentry Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Hawaii. The TOUR goes from Maui to Oahu this week for the Sony Open in Hawaii in Honolulu. UCLA alum and current volunteer assistant coach Parker McLachlin is in the field.
 
- Reggie Cannon, D, Boavista FC (Portugal) โย Started at right back and played the full 90 as Boavista battled to a 1-1 draw against Santa Clara in Primeira Liga action. Cannon has started every league game for Boavista since transferring from FC Dallas in September 2020.
 - UCLA alum Greg Vanney, who played for the Bruins from 1993-95, was named the new manager of the Los Angeles Galaxy. Vanney returns to the club where he spent 7 of his 10 professional seasons. This is the second club Vanney will serve as head coach for, as he led Toronto FC to a 112-82-56 record and one MLS Cup Championship from 2014-20, earning MLS and Concacaf Coach of the Year honors in 2017.
 
- Jessie Fleming, MF, Chelsea FC (England) โ Fleming played 28 minutes for Chelsea in their first match of 2021, a 5-0 win over Reading on Jan. 10. The victory extended Chelsea's unbeaten streak to 30 consecutive WSL matches, one shy of the league record.
 - Rachel Lowe, MF, Sydney FC (Australia) โ Lowe scored her first goal for Sydney FC, the game-winner in the 76th minute in a 2-1 victory over Newcastle Jets on Jan. 7. Lowe had entered the game just six minutes prior to scoring.
 - Teagan Micah, GK, Melbourne City FC (Australia) โ Micah and Melbourne City FC suffered a 6-0 defeat to Melbourne Victory on Jan. 9. Micah played the full 90 and made four saves on 24 shots.
 
- Maxime Cressy came from behind to defeat 16th-seeded Go Soeda of Japan, 6-7(3), 6-4, 7-5, in the first round of singles qualifying at the Australian Open. Cressy, who reached his first-career Grand Slam main draw at the 2020 main draw, trailed 2-4 in the deciding set. He will next meet Yannick Maden of Germany Tuesday.
 - Mackenzie McDonald dropped his first-round singles match against sixth-seeded American Sam Querrey at the Delray Beach (Fla.) Open, but continues on in the doubles draw with partner Tommy Paul. McDonald/Paul edged Cristian Garin and Andre Goransson, 6-4, 6-7(4), 1-0(4), before cruising against Nicholas Monroe/Frances Tiafoe, 6-3, 6-1, to set up a semifinal-round contest with Ariel Behar/Gonzalo Escobar Tuesday morning.
 - Dennis Novikov and partner Bjorn Fratangelo were defeated by Querrey/Austin Krajicek, 7-6(4), 6-3, in the first round of doubles action at the Delray Beach Open.
 - Top-seeded Jean Julien-Rojer and Marcelo Arevalo suffered a premature end to their time at the Delray Beach Open, falling to Behar/Escobar by a 7-5, 7-6(4) score in the doubles first round.
 
- Robin Anderson knocked off fellow American Danielle Lao in comeback fashion, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, in the first round of singles qualifying the Australian Open. She will next take on 15th-seeded Ludmilla Samsonova of Russia Tuesday morning.
 - Eleventh-seeded Jennifer Brady was felled in the first round of singles action at the Abu Dhabi Open, as Tamara Zidansek of Slovenia earned a 0-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory. Brady's time in the United Arab Emirates continued in doubles play, though, as she teamed with partner Garbiñe Muguruza to reach the quarterfinal round. Brady/Muguruza jettisoned Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula, 4-6, 7-6(3), 1-0(8), and Ekaterina Alexandrova/Yana Sizikova, 6-3, 6-4, before coming up short against Laura Siegemund/Vera Zvonareva, 6-7(7), 6-1, 1-0(8).
 - Eighth-seeded Catherine Harrison dropped a decision to former Texas standout Bianca Turati of Italy, 6-4, 6-7, 6-1, in the first round of singles qualifying at the Abu Dhabi Open.
 - Ena Shibahara and partner Shuko Aoyama, seeded fifth, are set for a date with Sofia Kenin and Ajla Tomljanovic in the Abu Dhabi Open doubles semifinal round Tuesday. Shibahara/Aoyama snuck past Andreja Klepac/Marta Kostyuk, 4-6, 7-5, 1-0(10), prevailed in a second-round walkover and dominated top-seeded Barbora Krejcíková/Hsieh Su-wei, 6-4, 6-1, en route to the final four. Shibahara also participated in singles qualifying, defeating Makoto Ninomiya of Japan, 6-1, 6-4, before falling to 12th-seeded Anastasia Gasanova of Russia, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.
