Tucson, Ariz. – In its first road contest of the 2021 season, UCLA earned a 196.750-195.075 victory over Arizona. The Bruins recorded season-best marks on all four events, scoring 49.225 on vault, 48.975 on uneven bars, 49.300 on balance beam and 49.250 on floor exercise.

UCLA recorded seven scores of 9.9 or better, including event-winning marks of 9.95 on beam and floor by Samantha Sakti and Nia Dennis, respectively. The Bruins and Wildcats were knotted at 48.975 after the first rotation. UCLA's final two came through with clutch performances following a fall by Frida Esparza on her dismount. Frazier nailed her routine with a season-high 9.9, and Pauline Tratz, in just her second collegiate bars routine, hit a 9.775.

UCLA put over a point between them and the Wildcats after the second rotation, scoring 49.225 with all five vaults scoring 9.8 or higher. Tratz led off with a 9.8, followed by a 9.825 from Kendal Poston. Frazier tied her career-high with a 9.825, Dennis added a 9.875, and Campbell powered a huge vault for a 9.9.

On floor exercise in rotation three, Dennis followed up her viral performance with another 9.95. Frazier recorded another 9.9. Tratz earned a season-high 9.875, and Campbell scored 9.85 to lead the Bruins to a 49.250 and a 147.450-145.900 lead.

UCLA wrapped it up on beam with three 9.9+ scores and a team total of 49.3. Esparza rebounded beautifully with a 9.9, and Campbell and Sakti wrapped the meet up with huge scores of 9.925 and 9.95, respectively. Dennis also contributed her first beam routine in a year, scoring 9.8.
