December 15, 2021 | Women's Volleyball

LEXINGTON, Ky. โ€“ Mac May brought in AVCA First Team All-American honors and Zoe Fleck was named an AVCA Third Team All-American, the organization announced Wednesday morning. May and Fleck were both selected to the AVCA Pacific South All-Region Team on Dec. 7.

May, a graduate outside hitter from Dubuque, Iowa, is the third Bruin ever to earn three AVCA All-American nods (one First Team and two Second Team) and the 17th in program history to be awarded to the AVCA First Team. May won her second Pac-12 Player of the Year award earlier this season after leading the Bruins with 558 kills (4.85 kills per set) and 45 aces (0.39 aces per set). She ended her career as the only Bruin to rank top 3 in kills (3rd, 2,065) and aces (3rd, 178) and is UCLA's all-time leader with 510 sets played.

May and Utah outside hitter Dani Drews are the lone selections from the Pac-12 to the AVCA First Team All-American list.

May also tied the program record for aces in a single match with eight versus Arizona on Nov. 21, in just three sets. May finished her UCLA career leading the Bruins in their last 17 matches, including a match-high 17 kills at a .351 clip at Wisconsin in the NCAA Regional Semifinals on Dec. 9.
