ALBANY, N.Y. - For the second time in three months, Bruin alum Lilia Vu won on the Symetra Tour, claiming a two-shot victory at the Twin Bridges Championship at Pinehaven Country Club.
After an opening-round, 1-under 70 on Friday, Vu had a share of the lead after Saturday's second round following a 4-under 67. On Sunday, Vu was tied for the lead with Rachel Rohanna after 13 holes before falling one back after a bogey on the 14th. She quickly made an eagle on the par-5 15th, with a Rohanna birdie putting both at 7-under. Vu made two pars and a birdie the rest of the way to finish at 8-under 205, winning by two over Rohanna, who made two bogeys and a birdie in her final three holes.
Vu, who won for the first time in her professional career in early May at the Garden City Charity Classic at Buffalo Dunes, moves atop the season-long money list with just over $99,000 in winnings in 12 events. She has six Top 10s on the season. The top 10 players at the end of the season, which runs through the beginning of October, will earn LPGA Tour status for the 2022 campaign.
