No. 16 UCLA Rowing Preps for San Diego Crew Classic

LOS ANGELES โ€“ The No. 16-ranked UCLA women's rowing program will compete at the two-day San Diego Crew Classic on Saturday and Sunday (March 26-27).

The upcoming races this weekend will mark the Bruins' second racing event of the spring season, after having competed against crosstown rival USC on Sunday, March 13, at the Bruins' home boathouse in Marina del Rey.

UCLA's races on Saturday will begin with the varsity eight crew competing at 10:47 a.m. (Heat 1 of the Jessop-Whittier Cup). The Bruins will race against Texas, California, Washington and USC. UCLA's V8+ crew will be racing against three schools currently ranked among the top 10 teams in the latest poll โ€“ No. 1 Texas, No. 5 Washington and No. 9 California.

The Bruins' varsity four crew will compete at 11:51 a.m. with Heat 2 of the WV4+ races. UCLA's varsity four will race against Texas, California, Gonzaga, Sacramento State and MIT.

UCLA's second varsity eight crew will take the water at 11:59 a.m. with Heat 1, rowing against USC, California, Oklahoma, San Diego, Sacramento State, Marist and Portland.

The Bruins' fourth and final race of the Saturday session will include the novice eight crew, scheduled to take the water at 12:31 p.m. (PT).
