She also took first place on three events, winning vault with a 9.950, beam with a 9.925 and tying for first with Jordan Chiles on bars with a 9.925. Her only non-event win was on floor, where she scored a career-high-tying 9.925 to finish tied for third behind Chiles and Washington's Amara Cunningham, who each scored 9.950. UCLA led from start to finish, recording 49+ marks on its first three events, including a meet-high 49.475 on floor. Olympic and World gold medalist Jade Carey leads Oregon State, ranking fourth in the nation in the all-around with an average of 39.642. HARRIS 3-FOR-3 AS PAC-12 FRESHMAN OF WEEKย
For the third time in as many weeks, Selena Harris has been named the Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Week. Harris won the all-around and three individual event titles to help lead UCLA to a 196.900-195.825 victory at Washington.The Las Vegas native scored 39.725 in the all-around for the second consecutive meet to improve her season average to 39.650, which puts her at No. 3 in the nation behind only reigning NCAA all-around champion Trinity Thomas and reigning Olympic all-around champion Suni Lee. Harris scored 9.925 or higher on all four events at Washington, winning vault with a career-high 9.950 and beam with a career-high-tying 9.925, tying for first on bars with a 9.925 and tying for third on floor with another career-high-tying 9.925. In UCLA's first three meets this season, Harris has scored 9.9 or higher on 11 of 12 routines. ย
LASHBROOKE WINS PAC-12 COACHES CHOICE AWARDย
After making a nearly three-year return to the competitive lineup with a 9.850 on floor, senior Chloe Lashbrooke received Pac-12 Coaches Choice honors. Lashbrooke's freshman season in 2020 was cut short due to the pandemic, and she ruptured her Achilles tendon just before the 2021 season began. The Scottsdale, Ariz. native missed all of 2021 and was still recovering during 2022. This season, she made her return with an exhibition performance at the Wasatch Classic that scored 9.875 and earned her a spot in the competitive lineup at Washington a week later. Lashbrooke's floor score of 9.850 at Washington was her seventh score of 9.825 or higher on floor in as many career meets, improving her career average to 9.864. ย ย

Redshirt senior Margzetta Frazier hit the century mark for consecutive routines without a fall after landing her vault at Washington. The three-time All-American has hit all 100 routines of her career, with no score dipping below 9.500 in her 39 meets. Frazier has career averages of 9.888 on bars, 9.866 on floor, 9.800 on beam and 9.796 on vault. Another Bruin is approaching 100 consecutive hit routines as well. Junior Chae Campbell currently stands at 98 hit routines, with her only fall coming on the second event of her first collegiate meet. ย ย ย

After competing a combined total of just three routines a year ago due to injuries, the 2023 senior class is back with a vengeance. Margzetta Frazier, who fractured her foot in the season opener a year ago, has returned to compete on at least two events in each of the first three meets. She already has season highs of 9.950 on uneven bars and 9.925 on floor exercise and currently ranks No. 14 in the nation on bars. The three-time All-American has now hit all 100 of her collegiate routines without a fall. CHILES CONTINUES SUCCESS ย
After spending the summer and fall winning multiple medals in national and international competition, 2020 Olympic silver medalist Jordan Chiles has continued her success in NCAA competition, scoring 39.650 in the season opener and 39.725 in week two at the Wasatch Classic. Her season all-around average of 39.533 puts her in ninth in the national rankings, and she ranks first on uneven bars and 10th on floor exercise.ย
Chiles competed at her first-ever World Championship in the fall and helped lead the U.S. to the team gold medal with a strong all-around performance before adding two silver medals in the individual event finals, on vault and floor exercise. The Bruin sophomore also won the floor exercise title and finished second on vault at the Paris World Challenge Cup in the summer and was a three-time bronze medalist (all-around, uneven bars and floor exercise) at the 2022 U.S. Gymnastics Championships. ย ย

Four-time All-American Chae Campbell has scored 9.925 or higher on floor exercise in all three meets this year, averaging 9.942 to rank second nationally. She has scored 9.925 or higher in eight of her last nine floor routines, including two perfect 10s. Campbell also ranks 16th in the all-around and 12th on vault. She had a streak of 10 consecutive 9.9+ vaults snapped with a 9.875 at the Wasatch Classic but has 16 9.9+ vaults in her career, averaging 9.891. UCLA TO HOST NCAA REGIONALS ย
For the first time in 13 years, UCLA will host the NCAA Regionals in Pauley Pavilion. The three-day, nine-team competition will begin on March 29 with a first round dual meet between the two lowest-seeded teams. The winner will advance to the second round, which will take place on March 30 with two quad meets. The top two teams from each of the two quad meets will meet in the regional final on April 1, with the top two finishers advancing to the NCAA Championships. UCLA had been scheduled to host the Regionals in 2020 before the season was canceled due to the pandemic. ย
