Bruins Take on No. 9 Utes in Salt Lake City Sunday

SALT LAKE CITY – UCLA Women's Basketball (16-3, 5-2 Pac-12) will be in Salt Lake City to take on No. 9/9 Utah (17-2, 7-2 Pac-12) on Sunday, Jan. 29.
 
Tip-off is slated for 11 a.m. PST. The game will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network with Krista Blunk and Anthony Levrets on the call. Dave Marcus will provide play-by-play analysis on UCLA Digital Radio.

The Bruins dropped an overtime heartbreaker against No. 25/RV Colorado on Friday, Jan. 27. UCLA outrebounded the Buffs 45-35 in the game, and the Bruins had four players in double figures in the effort. UCLA shot just 1-for-5 in the overtime period and ultimately fell to a last-second three-point make from Colorado.
 
KEY NOTES ON THE BRUINS
 
• UCLA has made 264 free throws through 20 games, shooting 76.1% on the year (2nd - Pac-12, 264-347 FT). The Bruins rank 1st in offensive rebounds per game in the Pac-12 (15.1 ORPG, 19th - NCAA). UCLA is 3rd in the Pac-12 in total rebounding (41.2 RPG). The Bruins also rank 4th in blocks per game (4.5 BPG), 5th in defensive FG% (37.6%) and 4th in rebounding margin (+7.6 RPG) in the conference.
• The Bruins' 17-4 start is their best through 20 games since 2019-20 when UCLA went 19-1. UCLA's 6-2 record in Pac-12 play is the second-best start under Cori Close (7-2, 2019-20) through nine conference games.
• Graduate transfer Gina Conti suited up in the starting lineup for the first time in a Bruin uniform on Nov. 13 versus Troy and has made 19-consecutive starts for UCLA. Conti had a season-high 8 assists in UCLA's 75-47 win over CSU Bakersfield (Dec. 15) as the Bruins assisted on 21 of 29 made baskets. Conti has led the team in assists on 11 occasions through her first 20 games with the Bruins. The point guard is leads the team in assists (73 AST) and assists per game (3.7 APG). Conti boasts a 2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio (7th - Pac-12) and has ripped away 24 steals this season.
