Women’s Basketball Announces Non-Conference Schedule

LOS ANGELES – UCLA Women's Basketball has released its non-conference schedule for the 2023-34 season. The highly-anticipated season begins Nov. 6 inside Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom.
"We're going to have to be ready from the jump," said the Michael Price Family UCLA Women's Head Basketball Coach Cori Close. "Opening at home against Purdue, right off the bat, it'll give us a barometer of where we are."
The non-conference season will see two Big Ten matchups, a preview for the future of UCLA women's basketball competition. The Bruins open the season against future-conference foe Purdue as the first game of a double-header night with UCLA men's basketball. The team will also travel to Columbus, Ohio, in mid-December to take on the Big Ten's Ohio State Buckeyes.
The Bruins will be tested on a number of occasions throughout the year, playing defending Ivy League and Big East champions Princeton and UConn. UCLA will also see SEC and ACC opponents on the road and in neutral-site games before conference play begins. The Bruins will compete in the Cayman Island Classic around Thanksgiving, then head to Connecticut to face off against Florida State as part of the Invesco QQQ Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase.
"I'm just excited about how the non-conference season is going to force us to grow," said Close. "If you want to be in a good position going in Pac-12 play, we're going to have to grow week-by-week at a really high rate. Our schedule is going to force us to do that."
