November 28, 2023 | Women's Basketball, Bruin Athletics
LOS ANGELES โ Sophomore Kiki Rice of UCLA Women's Basketball has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for the week of Nov. 20-26.
Sophomore Kiki Rice had a career night Friday at the Cayman Islands Classic to help No. 2 UCLA Women's Basketball take down No. 6 UConn for the first time in program history (W, 78-67). Rice scored a career-high 24 points and grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds to record her second double-double of the season in the 11-point win. The point guard flirted with a triple double as she threw eight assists in the statement victory. She shot 9-of-15 from the floor during the top 10 matchup, knocking down two of her four shots from distance; Rice is shooting .400 from three-point range this season.
ย
The Bethesda, Md., native followed her career performance with an efficient 8-point, 8-assist game against Niagara Saturday (W, 97-46) as the Bruins completed an undefeated November (6-0). Rice shot 4-for-5 from the field and swiped three steals in the win; the PG is averaging a team-leading 1.8 steals per game.

This is Rice's first-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award, and the third in a row for a UCLA Women's Basketball student-athlete.
