Betts Named Student-Athlete of the Week, Presented by Ready

LOS ANGELES – Sophomore Lauren Betts of UCLA Women's Basketball has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for the week of Dec. 4-10.
Betts had 18 points in 16:50 of play against CSUN on Thursday, shooting 7-for-9 from the field and recording two blocks and a steal. The Bruins had 64 points in the paint in the 63-point win. The center followed her performance up with a 22-point, 18-rebound, 4-block game against No. 20 Florida State (W, 95-78) on Sunday. She's one of three student-athletes in the NCAA with a single-game stat line like that this season. Betts is shooting a Pac-12-leading and NCAA-leading .774 FG% through nine games this year (17-25 FG, .680 FG% this weekend). The No. 2 Bruins went 2-0 to improve to 9-0 on the year.
This is Betts' fourth-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
