December 19, 2023 | Football, Bruin Athletics
LOS ANGELES – Redshirt-junior Ethan Garbers of UCLA Football has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for the week of Dec. 11-17.
The quarterback was named Offensive MVP at the Starco Brands LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk after leading a second half comeback in UCLA's 35-22 win over Boise State on Saturday at SoFi Stadium. After taking a 16-7 deficit into the halftime break, Garbers entered the game early in the third quarter and immediately engineered three-consecutive touchdown drives to put the Bruins ahead for good. UCLA ultimately scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to lock down the team's first bowl win since 2015. Garbers, who completed each of his first eight pass attempts, finished the night with 152 yards on 9-of-12 passing with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
This is Garbers' first-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
