Mack Honored as Pac-12 Freshman of the Week

LOS ANGELES – UCLA guard Sebastian Mack has secured Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors for the second time this season, as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the Pac-12 Conference.
 
Mack, a 6-foot-3 freshman from Chicago, Ill., averaged 22.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals in the Bruins' two home games last week. He scored a team-leading 27 points in a loss to CSUN on Tuesday, Dec. 19, and followed that effort with a team-high 17 points against Maryland last Friday evening. Mack has scored in double figures in eight of UCLA's 11 games this season. He has averaged 15.2 points and 4.5 rebounds through 11 contests.

Mack made 19 of 23 free throw attempts through both games last week (82.6 percent).
 
Earlier this year, Mack was honored as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week on Monday, Nov. 27, after a strong three-game stretch for UCLA at the Allstate Maui Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii.
 
Mack enters the week leading all Pac-12 players in made free throws, having shot 62 of 78 from the free throw line (79.5 percent). In addition, he has shot 38.9 percent from the field and 26.9 percent from 3-point territory.
 
The Bruins (5-6) will open their Pac-12 schedule at Oregon State (8-3) this Thursday evening. Game time at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Ore., is scheduled for 7 p.m. (PT). UCLA's game at Oregon State will be televised by the Pac-12 Network.
