Betts Named Student-Athlete of the Week, Presented by Ready

LOS ANGELES – Sophomore Lauren Betts of UCLA Women's Basketball has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for the week of Dec. 18-24.
The center earned her sixth double-double of the year against No. 13 Ohio State to help the Bruins capture their third win over a ranked opponent (No. 6/7 UConn - Nov. 24, No. 20/20 Florida State - Dec. 10, No. 13/11 Ohio State – Dec. 18). UCLA totaled four wins over ranked opponents during the 2022-23 season. Her five blocks against Ohio State marked a new career high - she's the first Bruin since Monique Billings to record 5+ blocks (Jan. 27, 2017 vs. Arizona State). Betts had an efficient 16 points in 13 minutes of play against Hawai'i, sitting most of the game after her contributions gave UCLA control of the game. Betts shot 76.2% from the field last week; her .771 FG% on the year leads the Pac-12 and the NCAA.
This is Betts' fifth-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
